Emilie | Birth & Postpartum Doula
"Birth is an experience that demonstrates that life is not merely function and utility, but form and beauty".
- Penny Simkin

Hi, I’m Emilie — a wife, mama to a sweet little boy, and birth and postpartum doula serving families in Edmonton and the surrounding area.
My heart for this work began in my teenage years when I first became fascinated by the intentional design and strength of women’s bodies. At the same time, I was drawn to herbalism and natural living, which sparked a deep respect for supporting the body in gentle, holistic ways. Over time, that passion grew into a clear calling to walk alongside women during pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum season.
I completed my initial doula training in February 2021. Shortly after, I spent time living in Nordegg, Alberta, where I worked as a mountain guide teaching mountain biking, whitewater canoeing and rafting, ice climbing, and other outdoor skills. That season of life deeply shaped my approach to doula care — strengthening my ability to remain calm under pressure, and offer steady, grounded support in intense and transformative moments.
My own birth experience further deepened my commitment to this work. It opened my eyes to the true labor a woman goes through to bring life into this world. Even with a beautiful pregnancy and well-supported birth, it is an immense physical and emotional undertaking. Experiencing that season firsthand gave me an even greater appreciation for how much thoughtful care, steady presence, and compassionate support women and their families truly need.
Today, I am continuing my education in herbal medicine through online studies and am excited to thoughtfully integrate herbal knowledge into my doula care. My approach blends evidence-based birth support with gentle, traditional practices that nurture both mother and baby.
I am especially passionate about supporting women who desire a calm, physiological approach to birth, while remaining flexible and fully supportive of each family’s unique journey. My goal is for every client to feel safe, informed, and deeply cared for — and to know they have someone steady and compassionate on their team.
