Sam | Certified Birth Doula
Wife, Mom, & Coffee Lover
Hi, I’m Sam — a proud wife, mom of three boys, and a certified birth doula with a heart rooted in the wild beauty of homestead living. I was born in Edmonton and raised on an acreage just outside Camrose, where life with my two older brothers and an ever-changing menagerie of animals taught me to love the outdoors, appreciate hard work, and embrace the unpredictable.
My journey hasn’t been a straight line, but every step has shaped who I am today. I began post-secondary with a strong interest in law and completed three years of a psychology degree before realizing my heart was pulling me in a different direction. I took a detour to Florida for a year to work for Mickey Mouse (yes, really!) before returning to Alberta, where I earned a certificate in bookkeeping and accounting technology. That led to work in an accounting firm, followed by an exciting pivot into animal care as I pursued my Veterinary Medical Assistant certification from NAIT.
While studying and newly married, life was full and fast-paced. I worked as a vet assistant for a year before stepping into the biggest adventure yet—motherhood. After the birth of my first son, something shifted in me. The strength, support, and joy I experienced during childbirth—thanks to God, my doula, and my amazing husband—inspired a deep passion to support other women through their own journeys.
Now, as a doula, I’m devoted to helping you feel informed, empowered, and deeply supported throughout pregnancy and birth. I believe women are strong, intuitive, and wonderfully made for the task of bringing life into the world. It's an incredible honour to walk alongside you, and I can’t wait to be part of your birth team.
When I'm not supporting growing families, you’ll find me crocheting, experimenting in the kitchen, sipping coffee, tending to my garden, or dreaming up new homesteading projects. I love learning new things and building a life full of meaning and connection—with my husband, my kids, and the world around me.
"Birth is not only about making babies.
Birth is about making mothers - strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength."
